Overview

2025 is the year for your next career opportunity! KidsCare Home Health is hiring a director of nursing for our growing pediatric home health division in Texas. KidsCare Home Health’s private duty nursing services enhance our ability to ensure quality patient care by providing collaboration between our nurses and our therapists. This creates a cohesive and dedicated medical professionals team for the children entrusted into our care. The Director of Nursing oversees and directs all activities related to administration, staffing, scheduling, and clinicians. This role is focused on operational activities, delivery and coordination of client care, growth, expansion, and the development of pediatric nursing services. 

 

Service areas: Dallas, Fort Worth, Waco, Houston, Austin, Tyler, and surrounding areas 

Must report to Dallas office two days per week

Requires up to 50% travel throughout service areas

Responsibilities

Essential Duties and Responsibilities 

 

  • Oversee clinical operations and assist with the day-to-day operational needs. 
  • Analyze financial metrics and key performance indicators to identify changes which could impact staffing levels, quality of care, revenues, and expenses. 
  • Identify new markets/potential expansion areas for growth and development of services. Drive the expansion of the business into other geographical locations. 
  • Participate in the development of the corporation’s plans and programs as a strategic partner. 
  • Evaluate and advice on the impact of long-range planning, introduction of new programs/strategies and regulatory action. 
  • Enhance and/or develop, implement, and enforce policies and procedures within state and federal regulations and guidance by way of systems that will improve the overall operation and effectiveness of the organization. 
  • Attend various marketing and recruiting events to educate the community and healthcare professionals of the services and employment available through KidsCare Home Health. 
  • Prepare the organization for licensure, audits, and surveys. 
  • Serve as the point of contact for all state surveys and regulatory bodies; ensuring quality and ethical compliance within the applicable regulations. 
  • Design and develop appropriate organizational structure; promoting effective and efficient decision making while ensuring sufficient support for all staff. 
  • Plan, develop, organize, and implement standards for measuring quality care. 
  • Oversee patient care services and ensure that patient care is delivered in a timely and cost-effective manner ensuring a heavy focus on quality. 
  • Ensure clinical records are compliant with federal, state, and local regulations. 
  • Ensure safe delivery of pediatric nursing services, including private duty and skilled nursing services. 
  • Plan, schedule and facilitate ongoing staff meetings. 
  • Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and organizational goals. 
  • Identify staffing needs, hire, coach, and train team members with a commitment to employee development and retention. 
  • Comply with all company policies, practices, and procedures.   
  • Other duties as assigned. 

Qualifications

Other Qualifications and Skills 

 

  • Demonstrated relationship building and maintenance skills, including empowering and developing others, conflict management, and fostering cooperation. 

  • Ability to read, analyze, and interpret reports and business procedures.  

  • Excellent public speaking abilities with the knowledge to present and respond to the audience accordingly. 

  • Ability to work with concepts of probability and statistics. 

  • Ability to interpret on an extensive level with many abstract and concrete variables. 

  • Ability to respond effectively to the most sensitive inquiries or complaints. 

  • Prioritize, organize, delegate, and handle multiple tasks simultaneously. 

 

Education and Work Experience Requirements 

 

  • Bachelor’s Degree required. Master’s degree preferred.  
  • Must be a Registered Nurse (RN) in good standing and currently licensed by the State Board of Nursing. 
  • Valid CPR Certification required. 
  • Five (5) years of home health experience preferred. 
  • Pediatric home health experience preferred. 
  • Five (5) years of supervisory experience preferred. 
  • Five (5) years of nurse management experience required.
