Education and Work Experience Requirements
- Valid state driver license and reliable transportation with ability to travel to patient homes.
- CPR certification is required. BLS Healthcare certification preferred. (must be maintained throughout employment).
- Strong clinical assessment and critical thinking skills.
- Ability to work independently in home-based settings.
- Effective verbal and written communication skills.
- Ability to respond appropriately in emergency situations.
Other Qualifications and Skills
- Current active Registered Nurse license in the state of practice (or compact license where applicable).
- Two (2) years of Registered Nurse experience in a clinical care setting preferred.
- One (1) year of pediatric experience preferred.
- One (1) year of home health experience is preferred.
Physical Demands/Working Environment

- Ability to tolerate wearing respiratory protective equipment for prolonged periods.
- Ability to perform patient care duties while wearing a respirator and other required PPE.
- Frequent bending, reaching, standing, stooping, sitting, twisting, talking and hearing.
- Pushing and pulling up to 50 pounds (e.g., positiong patients moving equipment).
- Supporting up to 50 pounds (e.g., ambulating patients).
- Lifting up to 50 pounds independently (e.g., transferring a child) and assisting with transfers exceeding 100 pounds.
- Carrying equipment and medical supplies.
- Visual acuity is sufficient to read monitors, medical devices, and documentation (within 24 inches or less).
Work is performed primarily in private home settings where environmental conditions may very and are not under agency control.
Driving Responsibilities
This position requires driving on behalf of the company. Qualified applicants and team members driving personal vehicles while performing job duties for KidsCare will:
- Be at least 18 years of age.
- Possess and maintains a valid state driver’s license.
- Have at least one (1) year of US driving experience.
- Not have engaged in (or have been cited for) any of the following or similar behaviors within the last five (5) years:
- Driving while impaired or driving while in possession of a controlled substance for which the driver does not have a current valid license or prescription.
- Failure to comply with implied consent law (refusing a test for impairment),
- Committing a Misdemeanor or Felony involving a motor vehicle. KidsCare Home Health adheres to all federal and state mandates regarding the review of MVR checks and has an established policy for reviewing and adjudicating any convictions or charges found. As a result, KidsCare reserves the right to suspend or separate employment strictly based upon the information provided and its potential impact upon organizational liability related to performing specific job required responsibilities.
- Showing a pattern of dangerous driving habits in MVR Records
- Failing to follow law enforcement instruction
- Not having more than three (3) minor moving violations. Examples include speeding, failure to yield the right of way, unsafe lane changes, child safety seat violations, etc.
- Agree to regular driving history searches as requested by the company (refusal to submit to driving history searches may be grounds for separation).
- In addition to the above, the company may, in its sole discretion determine other behaviors as “at-risk” which may lead to revocation or restriction of company driving privileges. (NOTE: Individuals receiving company owned (fleet vehicles) may have additional requirements. MVRs will be reviewed during the fleet process.
Pay Range for this role is $60-75 per session and is based on skill set and experience.
