KidsCare Home Health, a 2025 U.S. Top Workplace, is seeking a Insurance Authorization Specialist to support our pediatric home health services. This entry-level role is ideal for someone detail-oriented, organized, and eager to grow in the medical field.
Maintain authorization workflows to obtain routine, initial and reauthorizations; contact payer sources for outstanding authorizations, including fax authorization requests with necessary clinical documentation to obtain authorization; process authorization emails and/or kickbacks received from payer.
Schedule authorized visits to clinician’s caseload; communicate with caregiver and clinicians to provide updates as needed; ensure timely processing of discharge and managing clients’ holds in the organization’s healthcare software system.
Keep up to date with all payor requirements and procedural changes for each payer; process payer changes each month.
Prepare and fax authorization documentation to physician for signature; anticipate and facilitate orders needed for upcoming episodes to maintain continuation of care.
Participate in proactive team efforts to achieve departmental and company goals; comply with all safety policies, practices and procedures; other duties as assigned.
High school diploma or GED
0–1 year of administrative experience preferred
Strong communication, organization, and multitasking skills
Proficiency in Microsoft Office
